Have you ever heard the saying “Time to wake up to reality”? well if you have its time to wake up and realize that not everything on television is real. Please remember television is a source of entertainment and they want ratings so that you will watch the show again and again.
I am amazed of how many people we speak to they tell us ”but i saw it on T.V.” and they begin to tell us how to do our job. As a consumer you have the right to question your agent but just becuase you saw somthing on T.V. doesnt mean its possible in real life.
There is a one particular show on T.V. that the host (who is an agent) takes a young couple to find their first home and magically by the end of the half hour show they are new home owners and live happily after. What people dont realize is they cut out ALOT of footage and just show basically the highlights.
There is another show that shows poeple renovating a home with $500 and the sellers end up selling the home for a fortune not realizing the show is paying for the rest of the renovations and guaranteeing the sale. This is how sellers agree to be on the show and theses shows keep getting an audience.
Just keep in mind wether you are buying or selling to understand that not everything on T.V. is reality. Although it might be entertaining to watch keep in mind that real life isnt as simple.
